Duties
When your team plays at home, it is likely that the team will have duties for which it is responsible.
- Field setup
Setup the line markers, cones, goal post covers, etc., make sure the field is ready for play, set out trash cans with liners. When noted on the schedule, the time indicates when the team should arrive at the field to begin setup. - Concessions
Each team is responsible for providing concession workers for games. Some teams will do it more than others and it is usually the home team. When noted on the schedule, the number indicates how many parents are needed and the time indicates when the parents should arrive at the concession stand to prepare for duty. - Announcer
The coaches of the home team that have just completed their game announce (call) the next team’s game. When noted on the schedule, if “coin flip” appears, the duty is dependent upon the coin flip at the beginning of the game. If your team wins the coin flip, you are also assigned the announcer duty. See the section below on Determining the Home Team for additional information. - Field teardown
Take down the line markers, cones, goal post covers, etc., make sure everything is put away and pick up & dump the trash.
Determining the Home Team
When playing away, your team will always be the away team. When playing in Festus, your team will always be the home team if your opponent is not a Festus team. If your opponent is a Festus team, a coin flip at the beginning of the game will determine which team is considered the home team. When noted on the schedule, the home team is displayed in bold, if it can be determined. If a coin flip is necessary, no team is listed in bold. Please note that if your team is determined to be the home team by way of coin flip, your team may also be automatically responsible for one or more duties, as noted on the schedule.
