Schedules
Below is a link to the the individual team schedules for the 2010 season and a link to the overall conference schedule. Please note that on the conference schedule the 7/8 White Cougars should be the 7/8 Red Cougars. By the end of the week, each team’s schedule will be posted on the Team page on the Web. Directions to the fields are available on the Field Locations tab.
2010 Final Conference Schedule
A couple of things to note. There is one weekend where our 9/10 Silver Cougars will play a Sunday game (10/03/10). Also, all of the South County games on 10/23/10 will be played at Oakville instead of Mehlville.
Concession Stand Duties
Unfortunately our concession vendor did not feel he could make a profit by providing us with concessions during the practices and the games. Therefore we will need to ask for each team to provide volunteers during home games at the Crystal field. When you are the home team, your team will need to provide 3 volunteers to work at the concession stand during the game being played prior to your game. You will need to begin work 15 minutes prior to the start of the game before yours.
The individual team schedules identify whether your team is home or away and they identify the concession stand duty start time when you are the home team. Please work with your team parent to identify the volunteers for your schedule. All completed information (name and contact phone number) should be forwarded to Jamie Mize at jamie.mize@mytcyfa.org as soon as possible.
We were hoping to avoid this responsibility and we apologize that it did not work out. Please note that with the change, we will no longer have concessions available at practice.
Fields
Just a reminder that during practice, the only people allowed within the fences on the practice fields are the approved coaches and the players. All parents and siblings should remain outside of the fenced areas.
During the conference games, with the exception of the traffic to and from the restrooms, parking lot, and concession areas, all specatators will need to remain in the bleachers. Coaches with badges and the players are the only people allowed on the field. To obtain a coaching badge you must complete a volunteer form, consent to and pass a background check, and register at USA football (www.usafootball.com).
Cougar Gear
The cougar gear shirts will be at the Crystal City field at 7:00 a.m. The Team Parents should coordinate delivery with the parents. The hats will be delivered in a couple of weeks.

Jamboree
The Jamboree, TCYFA’s Opening Day celebration, is this Saturday, August 21st. It will be held at the Crystal City High School Field. Below is the link to the schedule of events.
Ernie Goddard will be taking individual and team pictures. All players, regardless if you are purchasing pictures, should attend the team photo session. Below is the link to the photo order form. Please turn in the completed form and payment (cash preferred) to Ernie at the time of the pictures.
Each team will scrimmage against other TCYFA teams in the division. A team will play 15 minutes on offense and 15 minutes on defense. The coaches will receive a more detailed schedule of the playing times / opponents for the their scrimmages.
The raffle drawing will take place somewhere around noon. You can turn in your raffle tickets at the concession stand up until the time of the drawing. Good luck on winning the cash!
Weigh In
The last opportunity for your player to complete his weigh in requirement for the season is this Wednesday, August 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the DeSoto High School football field. If your player does not complete this requirement, he will NOT be allowed to participate in any conference games. Allyson Mock and Robert Bruns from TCYFA will be at the event to assist your players. PLEASE DON’T FORGET THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATES!
Cougar Gear
The Cougar gear order was placed last Friday. We did order some extra pieces for those that missed the window for ordering gear. However, these items will be available on a first come, first serve basis. The shirts and sweatshirts should be delivered before the first conference game on August 28th. The hats will require an additional two weeks. Note that we do have some window decals available for purchase. They are $6 a piece or 2 for $10. Please see Allyson Mock if you are interested.
Ram’s Scrimmage
A number of the 11/12 year old parents attended the “extra” game last Saturday. We saw some other teams participate in the scrimmage and it was awesome! The players arrive on the field before the end of the half and were positioned close to the professional players. They were able to watch the end of the half from the field and then once the half ended, they immediately began their 6 minute scrimmage. We’re really excited for the opportunity this presents the players!
We do have a few tickets still available for both the 9 year old and the 11/12 year old games. If you are interested, please see Jill Graves for the 9 year old tickets and Allyson Mock for the 11/12 year old tickets.
Note that the “scrimmage team” practices will begin soon. The 9 year olds, who scrimmage at the Thursday, September 2nd, game will practice this Wednesday at Sunset Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The 11/12 game is not until Sunday, September 12 and we’ll notify you when they will begin practices.

Cougar Gear
This Thursday (08/12) is the last day to turn in your orders for Cougar gear. Please return your order forms to your Team Parent or to a Board Member. The link to the order form is below.
Equipment Problems
This Thursday (08/12) is also the last day we will bring the equipment trailer to practices. In order to accommodate the school open houses, Tim Davis, our Equipment Director, will have the trailer at Sunset Park on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
If you have any equipment issues, please take care of them this week. Problems that are reported after this week’s practices will require an appointment with Tim (at his convenience) and a visit to our equipment storage locker.
Concessions
The concession trailer will NOT be at Sunset Park this Wednesday. Please wish Jim and Dawn Crowe a concession-free happy anniversary!
Rams Tickets
We still have a number of the two-for-one Rams tickets available and we do need more 12 year olds to play in the scrimmage. The extra game is this Saturday so please purchase your tickets this week to take advantage of this great opportunity. And please let us know as soon as possible if your 12 year old is interested in taking part in the scrimmage.

This week’s practices, because of the excessive heat, will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.
Please consult with your coach as to when and where you will be practicing. There has been a lot of shuffling of practices to accommodate the school open houses and the heat.

Team Colors
It has been 3 days since our last conversation with the jersey vendor, Southside Sports, so we feel comfortable in relaying the latest news. We are back to our original colors of gold, red, silver, and white. We ordered from a different jersey supplier who has those colors available.
The jerseys should be completed the week after next. We plan to distribute them, along with the uniform pants and socks, during practices.
Weigh In Schedule
The following is a list of the times for the team weigh ins.
9:00 a.m. - 9/10 Gold and 11/12 Red
9:20 a.m. - 9/10 Red and 11/12 Silver
9:40 a.m. - 9/10 Silver and 11/12 White
10:00 a.m. - 9/10 White and 7/8 Gold
10:20 a.m. - 5/6 Gold and 7/8 Red
10:40 a.m. - 5/6 White and 7/8 Silver
The weigh in will be held in the Festus Elementary School Cafeteria. All you will need to bring is your player (of course) and his birth certificate / passport. We have pre-printed the player weigh in cards including your player’s picture.
Your player should plan to attend the weigh in with his team. Your coach will organize the players in alphabetical order by last name in the hall outside of the cafeteria and will accompany the players to the weigh in. Parents will not be permitted in the weigh in room. Please remember that a player must attend a weigh in to be eligible to play in the conference games. You will need to work with your coach if you cannot attend at the designated time.
Cougar Gear This is the last week for placing an order for Cougar Gear. Your team representatives have the order forms and will coordinate turning them in to a Board Member. We will have extra forms available at the pavilion.

Tonight’s Practice
We will hold a full practice with equipment tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Weigh In
The TCYFA players should plan to attend our weigh in on Saturday, August 14th. We will send a schedule for the teams in the next couple of days but the weigh in will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Festus Elementary Cafeteria.
Note that the player must present their birth certificate to complete the weigh in process and all players must be weighed in order to participate in any conference games. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure your player has completed this requirement.
If your player will not be available for the TCYFA weigh in, you can work with your coach to attend either the Arnold or the DeSoto event. Note that a coach or a league representative must be at the event when the player is weighed. The Arnold event will be held this Saturday, August 7th, at the JCYA football field. Our players that need to attend this weigh in should be at the field at 11:00 a.m. The DeSoto event will be held on Wednesday, August 18th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the DeSoto High School football field. Google maps for these fields are available on our Web site under the Field Locations tab (http://www.mytcyfa.org/schedules/).
Concession Stand
The concession trailer repairs are not yet completed so we will NOT have concessions this evening.

Yearbook Raffle Winners
Tammy Cage and Jamie Mize were the winners of the two $190 drawings for the raffle. Please congratulate the ladies and thanks to all who contributed!
Team Color Changes
We received bad news tonight. Our jersey vendor, Southside Sports, cannot fulfill our jersey order for the gold and silver jerseys. At this late date we had no other alternative but to choose the two colors he could obtain for our order. Choosing another brand of jersey or a new jersey vendor would require resizing all of our players and we only have a little over 2 weeks before we need the jerseys for the team pictures. The new colors are maroon and forest green. We worked with the coaches that were affected and the following changes have been made.
The vendor has assured us that, with our changes, he can complete the order in time for our Jamboree. We will adjust our Cougar gear to the appropriate new colors and we will update the Web with the new team information as soon as possible. We apologize for the change. It was a disappointment for all of us.
Rams Tickets
Please see Jill Graves if you are interested in purchasing the Rams tickets. We still have a number of the 2-for-1 tickets for the pre-season Vikings and home opener Cardinals (12 year old scrimmage) games and we are ordering extra tickets for the pre-season Ravens (9 year old scrimmage) game.
Cougar Gear Orders
We distributed the Cougar Gear order forms to team representatives tonight at practice. The orders, with payment, are due by the end of practice on Thursday, August 12th. We will only place one order so please make sure you turn in your order forms to your team representative or to Shannon Richeson by the due date.
Registration Raffle Tickets
We will have a container available at all practices to collect the stubs from your registration raffle tickets. We will try to keep the container near the pavilion but since a board member needs to retain possession during the practices, it may be moving around the various fields. The raffle tickets need to be turned in by noon on August 21, the day of the Jamboree. The drawing will take place shortly after the deadline.
Concession Stand
Our concession trailer required some repairs and has been in the shop this last week. Jim Crowe, our concession vendor, hopes to have the trailer available for practice tomorrow night.

We are cancelling tonight’s practice due to the heat.
Per the forecast the heat should subside some tomorrow night. We will hold an hour long (7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.) practice tomorrow night. This will give us some time to meet together as teams and get to know the other players, parents, and the coaches. We’ll also have the Rams sign-up sheets, hold the yearbook raffle, and distribute the Cougar gear order forms.
As a side note, please do NOT contact the board members for practice updates or any other questions during the regular work day. We are volunteers to the TCYFA organization that also hold real jobs where our employers expect and deserve our undivided attention. The hotline (636-937-6828) and the Web (www.mytcyfa.org) will be updated by 5:00 p.m if there is any information regarding a practice.
