07/25 TCYFA Updates

Just a few updates…

Registration 

We registered 226 players over the last two weeks.  Based on the age breakdowns, we’ll have two 5/6 teams, two 7/8 teams, four 9/10 teams, and three 11/12 teams.  

If you are interested in coaching or helping to coach a team and have not done so yet, please contact Terry Graves at 314-808-6271 or Pete Mock at 314-602-5160 / 636-337-3658.  Please note that all coaches must complete a volunteer background check.  Staci Templeton has the necessary forms.  

Equipment

Tuesday will be the first practice with pads.  Please make sure your player wears the appropriate practice pants and jersey and brings his equipment.

There are a number of players that did not receive either their helmets or shoulder pads.  Our priority order with Rydell for these items should begin arriving early next week.  We will have the equipment trailer at both practices next week.  If your player still needs equipment or if you need to exchange equipment, please stop by the pavilion during practice.  Next week will be the last time all of the equipment will be available at practices.

Yearbook Raffle

We still have a number of the yearbook raffle tickets for sale.  The drawing was originally scheduled for July 20th but has been changed to August 3rd in the hope of selling some additional tickets.

The ticket is $5 and offers you two chances to win a $190 registration fee.  Only 300 tickets were printed so your odds are pretty good!  The raffle proceeds will allow us to print a free, color yearbook for each player.  Ernie Goddard will provide us with professional team pictures and we will have areas for your players to exchange autographs and messages.  It’s a great perk for the players so please take a chance and purchase a ticket.

Uniforms

Most of the players have been sized for their team uniform.  However, there are a few stragglers.  We will be pulling the players from practice this week in order to complete the process.  In order to receive the uniforms in time for the Jamboree, we need to submit the order this coming weekend.  It is very important to let us know if your player has not been sized and will not be available this week.

Also, during the uniform sizing two of the sample jerseys were mistakenly taken by players.  If you have them, please return them to us at the pavilion.

Teams

We will hold the team drafts this Friday.  Sometime over the weekend, your new coach should contact you to let you know your team.

We will begin selling team apparel after the draft.  You will only have two weeks (four practices) to place your order.  This provides the vendor enough time to complete the orders by the first conference game on 08/28.  We will NOT be placing a second order this year so please make sure to get your order submitted as soon as possible.

Ram’s Tickets

We have a very limited number of the two-for-one Ram’s tickets left to sell (< 20).  Please stop by the pavilion if you wish to purchase any of the remaining tickets.  Note that all 9 year olds that want to participate in the scrimmage will need to purchase a ticket to the pre-season game.

Concession

As you’ve hopefully noticed, our new concession vendor, Jim Crowe, has been offering drinks, hamburgers, and hotdogs during practice near the pavilion.  Jim is planning to provide our concessions during the games this year so you, as parents, will NOT be required to work the concession stand.  However, we need to show our support for his efforts in order for him to complete this arrangement.

Please stop by and purchase some items.  And please let Jim know of any requests for additional items.  If possible, he’ll be happy to accommodate.
