Playoff Field Information
We previously announced that in lieu of charging for admission to the Crystal City games, we will be collecting donations to support our troops.
Arnold and Ste. Genevieve will also be collecting for charities. They will charge either $1 or a canned good as admission to their games. All money and food collected will benefit the food pantries in their areas.
Big Thanks!
Thanks to all the players and parents who helped us celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness month.
A special thanks to Tim Davis (7/8 Red Cougar’s Dad) for the mini Nerf footballs donated by the Army Reserve. The kids loved them!
Banquet Tickets
Although the weather hasn’t been cooperating, we will have banquet tickets available at all the practices we manage to squeeze in this week as well as at the Crystal City games on Saturday. In addition, Staci Templeton will have tickets for sale at the Ste. Gen games on Sunday and Rodger Falvey will have them available at the DeSoto game on Saturday. Tickets will NOT be available for purchase at the banquet.
Each player and four coaches per team will receive a free ticket. The coaches will distribute the tickets to the players. Additional tickets for the family are $10 for an adult and $8 for a child (8 and under). Please plan to purchase your tickets at the earliest opportunity. We need to provide Andre’s with an accurate headcount early next week.
For those that are new to the league, the banquet is a great place for the teams to celebrate their season. We’ll have a buffet style dinner including drinks (non-alcoholic) and desserts. The coaches are asked to say a few words about their season and present each player with their trophy. The dress is casual and very Cougar-gear oriented. Players are asked to wear their team jerseys to the event.
In addition to the celebration, parents can nominate candidates for the open board positions. The positions that are up for election this year include:
· League Representative (2 year term)
· Vice President
· Coaching Director
· Assistant Coaching Director
· Equipment Director
· Secretary
· Field and Safety Director
· Concession Director
· Fund Raising Director
· Cheerleading Director
The President and Treasurer are two year terms that were elected last year (you’re stuck with us!). The nominations will be collected during the banquet, the candidates will be contacted to insure their interest, and the voting will take place at the December 2nd board meeting.
Please contact us if you have any questions about the banquet or board member elections.
Equipment Hand In
Equipment hand in will take place during the Super Bowl games on Saturday, November 7th, at the Crystal City field and prior to each banquet at Andre’s on November 8th. You’ll need to make sure you return all of your issued equipment to receive your deposit check.
To assist with the equipment hand in, we’ll be asking for an additional “concession” volunteer for November 7th. This person will work the same time as the concession volunteers but will assist in the equipment turn in process.
Thanksgiving Tournament
Unfortunately we did not have enough interest in the Thanksgiving Tournament to create team(s) to participate. However, I talked to a Hillsboro coach that may be trying to put teams together with players from all of the leagues in the conference. If they decide to organize this, I’ll provide contact information to those parents that are interested.
Trivia Night Volunteers
Practice was cancelled on Tuesday. We’ll send an e-mail letting you know when the meeting for people interested in organizing this event will be held.
